The specially coated wider eye allows the thread to pass through more freely at high speeds. The pontoon scarf (the indentation above the eye) reduces the chance of skipped stitches and thread breaks as the fabric is flexed up and down by the rapidly moving needle. The specially designed shaft also reduces the chance of needle breaks. Titanium adds strength and durability. Use with rayon, cotton, polyester, silk, or acrylic embroidery thread.

Best for : Machine embroidery on knit and woven fabrics. 

These needles have a flat side on the needle shank to assure proper alignment with the point of the sewing hook. (Intended only for machines designed for Flat Shank needles).
