Box of 100 Ball-Point ORGAN® 15X1ST (HAX1ST) Large Eye Flat Shank Home Embroidery Machine Needles.

Ball Point (BP) needles are designed to alleviate making holes in knit or loosely woven materials. The cross fibers which constitute the knit or loosely woven materials are relatively far apart as compared to those in tightly woven material. When a needle with a standard "sharp" point encounters one of those fibers in penetrating the fabric, it cuts right through the fiber. This creates a hole in the fabric. The Ball Point needle pushes aside the fiber it encounters in penetration and thereby avoids making a damaging hole in the fabric.

Needle System : 15X1ST, HAX1ST  (Same as Schmetz 130/705H-E)

This 15x1ST needle is a special version of the 15X1 for embroidery and decorative stitching. It has an oversized eye designed to reduce stress and tension on the thread, making it highly applicable to Decorative Stitching. It also accommodates metallic threads or heavier top stitching threads and makes needle threading easier.

  • Size 11 (Metric Size 75) 
  • Size 12 (Metric Size 80)
  • Size 14 (Metric Size 90)

Lower size numbers are narrower or thinner needles used for lighter materials. Higher size numbers indicate a needle of thicker diameter, used for heavier materials.
